About
the Artist
Having studied art history and being schooled in both painting and
graphic design my course as a painter has always mainly been exploratory
and inventve. A good number of years were spent at the Art Students
League in New York City where my first class was with Reginald Marsh.(1960s).
Afterwards my studies continued at Art Students League, Pratt Institute
and The School of Visual Arts.
Approximately 30 years were spent as a Graphic Designer, both in
Advertising and Corporate environments and my painting continued
on a limited time duration where I produced a varied body of works
which covered different artistic disciplines. Since 2004 I have
been working full-time as a painter producing work in two distinct
types of images. For the most part, my direction is Abstract geometrical.
(ie:Ad Reinhardt, Josef Albers, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin).
I have been in 2 group shows in New Jersey. One at Thompson Park
in Colts Neck (exhibiting paintings and environmental sculpture).
The other exhibit of graphic work was at a local private gallery.
